Iconic red-brick landmark where the Nobel Prize banquet is held each December.
Stockholms Stadshus, the iconic red-brick landmark on the Kungsholmen waterfront, is where the Nobel Prize banquet is held every December 10. Guided tours (in English, ~45 min, every 30 min in summer) take you into the Blue Hall (where the banquet is served), the Golden Hall (with 18 million gold-leaf mosaic tiles), and up the 106-metre tower for one of the best views in the city. The top of the tower is via stairs (open May-Sept), the Nobel banquet rooms are interior-only.
