Moderna Museet has one of Europe's best collections of 20th-century art — Picasso, Matisse, Dalí, Rauschenberg, Louise Bourgeois — set in a low-slung building on its own little island, Skeppsholmen. Entry to the permanent collection is free. Special exhibitions cost. The museum café has a glass wall facing the water and a small terrace. Combine with a walk around Skeppsholmen and the af Chapman tall-ship hostel.
